Vacation Arrival

Departed on Monday morning, May 1st from Ketchikan with my final destination to Raleigh, North Carolina for a trip to visit family. This trip also includes a visit to a few doctors to address some health issues. Spent 11 hours in the Seattle airport catching up on some reading as I waited to take the “red-eye” flight to Raleigh. The flight was pretty much uneventful, and found it to be shorter than expected when one sleeps through the whole thing.

Spent the first few days waiting for my body to adjust from the West-to-East coast jet-lag thing and catching up with family members. Was able to visit with my cousin Michelle for which niether of us have seen each other in over 20 years. She recently has married and gave birth not to long ago to twin boys. It was great to have the opportunity to hold them and try to get them to smile. They are such happy baby's.

A family friend Serena stopped by to visit with my sister Lisa and to spend the night with us. Serena works for a coffee company called Counter Culture Coffee which distributes java throughout the Carolina's for us coffee junkies.
During this visit she treated us with coffee and baked goods. It was good seeing her again and catching up on what's going on in her life. Good to know that she is happy and hasn't lost her sense of humor.
